Sporthorse Embryos for Sale -
Satisfaction Guaranteed

Advertisment
We hope to provide for sale, embryos from several of
our premium warmblood mares here at Old Bull Farms. The embryos will be
sired by our up coming stallion Iceburg (Escudo I- Viva Voltaire - Ramiro
Z). These embryos will be available for placement into surrogate mares,
at a pre-determined date during the month of July. The surrogate or
"recipient" mare, would be one you already own. All donor and all
recipient mares will be synchronized appropriately at one time. This
allows us to match each donor with the most suitable recipient, thereby
increasing the success rate of embryo transfer. It is difficult to predict
which recipients will be most appropriate for which donor mare until the
date of breeding, however, we will honor client preferences for specific
dams when possible. If you have a mare that would make a suitable
recipient and you would like the opportunity to own and raise a warmblood
foal with bloodlines from our breeding program, this may be just what your
looking for. The cost is only $5000 CD + HST, paid up front. This includes
all veterinary work, and a satisfaction guarantee - we will buy back
(providing a full refund) said foal at 6 months of age if you are not 100%
satisfied. Please visit our website at
www.oldbullfarms.com for more
information on recipient mares (what makes a good one), our list of donor
mares, the stallion Iceburg and contract details. This opportunity will
not be offered again this breeding season

Terms &
Conditions
 | $5000 CD + HST is paid in full up front |
 | All embryos will be out of one of the above list of donor
mares and by the stallion Iceburg |
 | All reproductive work will be performed at no extra cost by
East Coast Equine Reproduction Center (Avon Animal Hospital) |
 | Surrogate mares must be appropriate candidates (see below) |
 | Clients may have an order of preference for embryos from
specific donor mares; this preference will be honored to the best of our
ability and on a "first come first serve basis". However, because not
every mare will produce an embryo and because the most suitable donor
may not be a "first choice", we reserve the right to substitute embryos
from donor mares off the list above. |
 | If we can not retrieve an embryo for your recipient mare, or an
embryo is put in the mare but does not "hold" and your mare does not end
up safely "in foal" at 28-30 days of pregnancy (when a viable heartbeat
is detected), your money will be 100% refunded with no charge for any
veterinary work performed. |
 | After 30 days, if your mare aborts or delivers a still-born (dead
foal), 50% of your money will be refunded $2500 |
 | If your mare delivers a healthy foal, and you are not satisfied with
the foal by 6 months of age (after weaning), we will buy back your foal
for the full amount of $5000. The foal must be in good general health,
have had routine deworming and his first set of foal vaccines, he/she
must be halter broke and have had basic handling including leading,
tying, and picking up of all four feet. |

What Makes A Good Surrogate Mare?
 | Surrogate mares do not have to be as big as the donor mare. Unlike a
cow, a mares uterus has the unique ability to keep the foal from growing
too big for her to deliver. In the case of embryo transfer, the
fetus only grows as large as the surrogate mares uterus will allow, and
then after birth, the foal will eventually "catch up" to its genetically
predetermined size (or close to it). Believe it or not, miniature horse
mares can successfully deliver foals sired by draft horses. This is of
course an extreme example, and we generally do not recommend
using miniature horse mares or ponies. |
 | Surrogate mares can be any breed (Standardbred, Thoroughbred, Morgan
Horse, Draft Horse, Canadian, Warmblood, etc) and should be at least 15
hands. The bigger, the better. |
 | Surrogates should be in good general health and sound enough to
remain comfortable during gestation. ie. A mare with chronic laminitis
(founder) or cushings disease is not a good choice for a
recipient. |
 | Surrogate mares should be between 2 and 12 years old. Slightly older
mares will be considered but are not optimal. |
